Born and raised in Pawleys Island, Pastor Johnny Ford has been serving in the ministry for almost twenty years. He answered the call from God to plant a church in March of 2013 and by May, 2013, the House of God Church, a nondenominational, Christ-centered, community-focused church, came into existence.
A devoted husband and father of three sons and grandfather of one, Pastor Ford has been married to his lovely wife, the former Lynne Bessellieu, for 24 years. They have two sons together, Joshua and Caleb. Pastor Ford also has an adult son, Devon and a grandson, Devon Jr. A man of integrity, Pastor Ford served honorably in the United States Army. His years of nonprofit work have provided a backdrop for his ministry in serving others, which is also a testimony to his belief in the teachings of Jesus Christ. Known for his work within the community, Pastor Ford believes that Christians should use the gifts and callings given to them from God to better the lives of others and the world around them. It is said of Pastor Ford that he demonstrates remarkable dedication to people, regardless of age, gender or their station in life.
Pastor Ford was ordained in the Baptist Church in December, 2009, and earned his most recent ordination from the Christian Leaders Institute in February, 2014. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies. As a lifelong learner, he has been exposed to diverse trainings, such as studying at the Seminary of the Southwest and receiving an Associate of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies. He also earned a Nonprofit Leadership Institute certificate. Pastor Ford has received numerous awards for his service to others.
