In the times that we live in. It always seems like we must be on the go to get somewhere. At times life can get to the point of feeling like just as you have completed, confronted, or finally decided to make a move, the very next situation presents itself.
In today's inspirational moment from 2 Chronicles 20:1-17;22, we have two main characters, King Jehoshaphat and Jahaziel (notice how he was identified v14). Jehoshaphat found that a great multitude of his enemies were coming out against him and his people. We can take note of what Jehoshaphat did when he heard the news. Yes, fear struck him, but he also sought the Lord.
Let's remember the formula that caused this situation to be handled by God. As you discover in the reading of the text, while the king was seeking God in prayer, all the men of Judah stood before the Lord with their little ones, their wives, and their children (v13). This should let us know the importance of having family beside you when life attacks.
Here is the call for us to "stand still". You should find comfort knowing that you have a Jahaziel in your presence (family member, spouse, pastor...) when times get overwhelming. The scripture tells us that the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel. Jahaziel said, "Thus says the Lord to you, Fear not, and be not dismayed at this great multitude; for the battle is not yours but God's (2 Chron 20:15b).
Today walk in assurance that the battle is not yours and remember, the victory comes when we realize we are not to fight this battle, but to take position, stand still, and see the victory of the Lord on your behalf!
God's joy,
